About the Authors
Franklin Loufrani is the President and Founder of The Smiley Company. With over five decades in journalism and the licensing industry, Franklin was the first to trademark the Smiley face in 1971. His 'good news' campaign in the France Soir newspaper marked the beginning of the Smiley movement.
Nicolas Loufrani, Franklin's son, joined The Smiley Company in 1997 and has been the CEO since 2001. His expertise in high fashion and technology has revolutionized The Smiley Brand. Nicolas also spearheaded the Smiley Movement, a not-for-profit initiative launched in 2018.
Liam Aldous, an Australian-born good news journalist, writer, and cultural curator, has been Monocle Magazine’s Spain correspondent since 2011. He collaborates with high-end fashion house LOEWE and has contributed significantly to the book.
